Pain facies
In patients suffering severe pain.
Facies of Cranial Nerve dysfunction
CN dysfunction may cause asymmetries, droops, ptosis, strabismus, etc.
Mixedematous facies
In patients with hypothyroidism (thickened features, dry-brittle hair, periorbital edema,
coarse-puffy facies).
Hyperthyroid facies
In Grave's disease characterized by exophthalmos and sweaty appearance of the skin.
Moon facies
In hypercortisolism (Cushing's disease/steroid Rx). Full-rounded face + hirsutism + acne.
Parkinson facies
Characterized by lack of expression due to rigidity. In advanced parkinson's disease.
Scleroderma facies
Presents with a shiny skin and tight features.
Lupus facies
In lupus -SLE/Discoid-. Malar rash (erythema).
